Safeguarding and protecting children - the legal framework for practice (Group 3)

This is a one-day course designed as essential core level training for those who have some involvement in their work with child protection cases.

The course will give a working knowledge of the legislative and procedural context of safeguarding and child protection, clarify the roles and responsibilities of agencies involved in safeguarding children, and highlight related issues of anti-discriminatory practice.  This course can also serve as one of the unit workshops towards the Common Core Certificate Programme.

Managing Allegations against Staff

Date: 25th March 2015

This half day workshop will enable staff to reflect on current practice and responsibilities and to perform more confidently in their role in recognising and reporting allegations against staff.

It will further give an opportunity to understand the legal and procedural requirements in this difficult and important area of work.

Target Group: All persons working in the children’s workforce with particular relevance to Head teachers and senior staff responsible for managing allegations of abuse against staff e.g. Designated CP staff.
