Identifying and supporting young carers in Barnet Monday- 9 June 2014
As per Barnet’s Young Carer’s Plan, and Joint Memorandum of Practice ‘the importance of ensuring that young carers are relieved from inappropriate or excessive levels of care’ cannot be overemphasized. These documents stipulate that ‘every young carer (is supported) to meet their potential.’
As part of our Think Family approach, the Barnet multi-agency Young Carers group cordially invites you to this multi-agency conference themed Identifying and supporting young carers in Barnet on Monday, 9 June 2014 from 9am – 12.30pm at the Conference Area 1, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London N11 1NP.
The event will be hosted by Kate Kennally, Strategic Director for Communities, London Borough of Barnet and she will be setting the context of this agenda in Barnet. Nicola Francis, Family Services Director will chair this event and will be delivering the opening.
Guest speakers from the Children’s Society and Barnet Young Carers and Siblings (BYCAS) will address topical national and local issues relating to young carers and sharing some very insightful case studies on good practice and some useful tools.
