Accommodation and financial support to asylum seekers is provided by the National Asylum Support Service (NASS) The local authority is unable to provide housing or financial support to those adults or families who are awaiting a decision from the Home Office on their asylum application.

Unaccompanied asylum seeking children
The local authority provides help to unaccompanied children who are seeking asylum.
- Children under 16 should approach Referral and Assessment Team at Barnet House
- Young people between 16 and 18 years should approach the Leaving Care Team.
We may carry out an age assessment to verify age before offering help.
