Barnet Celebrating Sport Awards
Following last years highly successful inaugural event, the Barnet Celebrating Sport Awards evening will take place on 22 October 2008 and is a great opportunity yet again to thank local people who contribute so much to the sporting scene in Barnet.
The award categories are:
- Club of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Disability Coach of the Year
- Sports Performer of the Year
- Young Sports Performer of the Year
- Disabled Performer of the Year
- Young Disabled Performer of the Year
- Adult Team of the Year
- Junior Team of the Year (under 11-year-olds)
- Junior Team of the Year (11 - 16-year-olds)
- Primary School Team of the Year
- Secondary School Team of the Year
- Service to Sport Award.

Nominations must be received by Friday 12 September 2008.

The awards will be presented by Barnet’s Mayor, Councillor John Marshall and guest athletes. Prizes will include trophies, vouchers and tickets to major sporting events.
Some of the award winners will be put forward for London-wide and national awards following the Barnet event, giving them the chance for further recognition.
Venue
The awards ceremony will take place at the The Emerald Suite, North London Business Park, New Southgate, N11 on 22 October 2008.
