Training for practitioners working with children and families
The Safeguarding Children Board is actively committed to improving the range and quality of multi-agency training. This is done through the work of the Training and Development Sub-group that includes representation from a wide range of agencies working with children and adults who might be parents.
The Training and Development Sub-group is responsible for planning, commissioning and reviewing training to reflect the diverse needs of the workforce in Barnet. We are fortunate in being well served by colleagues across a range of agencies who regularly contribute to multi-agency training events to ensure a 'real life' perspective.
The training offered is designed to be flexible, and we provide varying levels of training to cater for different roles and responsibilities and also training at different times, including evenings and weekends.
We have also recently introduced an online option for the introductory safeguarding and protecting children course as part of our current training programme.
The current training programmes along with an application form, which should be returned to the address shown on the form, are below.
