Q1. What is the progress with my application?
You can view, track and comment on the status of an application by searching our online planning applications.
The target for deciding ordinary householder planning applications is 8 weeks, and for major applications 13 weeks. This is in line with government guidelines.
Both of these targets may be extended if the applicant agrees to extend the time period. Applicants have a right of appeal to the Planning Inspectorate for non–determination if the application is not determined by the expiry date.

Q2. How do I make a planning application?
You need to complete forms and provide detailed plans of the proposals drawn to scale, together with location plans to clearly define the site. Completed applications should be submitted to Planning Services, together with application fee, if applicable.
The Council requires applications to be submitted on forms provided by them.
