What happens to the materials I put in my Black Box?

Have you ever wondered what happens to the materials which are compulsory for you to recycle in your Black Box?

  • Tins and cans - sorted and re-smelted into more cans, car parts, fridges and other metal objects.
  • Paper - pulped, washed and rolled into new paper.
  • Glass bottles and jars - crushed, washed and melted into new glass bottles and jars.

To see what happens to the rest of the materials you can put in your Black Box go to the Where Recyclables go page.
