How do I register as deaf or hard of hearing?
The Physical and Sensory Impairment Team can register people as hard of hearing, deaf with speech or deaf without speech. To register, you will need to have a copy of your audiogram which certifies that you are hard of hearing, deaf with speech or deaf without speech. Once they have received a copy of this, the Physical and Sensory Impairment Team will provide you with a registration card and accompanying letter.
The register kept by the Physical and Sensory Impairment Team is confidential, and is only used to help the team find out what type of services people with hearing problems need. Registration is voluntary and you do not have to be on the register in order to receive services.
