What services do the Post Adoption Centre provide for Barnet residents?
The Post Adoption Centre provides sessions in Barnet every month. These sessions are run by their qualified and experienced independent counsellors.
They are free and can be used by families wanting assistance with their children's anxieties and behaviours. They can be used by adoption applicants wanting help in thinking through issues raised for them by the application process. They can also be used by birth relatives and adopted adults.
Barnet subscribe to the Post Adoption Centre so residents have access to their other services which include:
- a confidential telephone advice line
- counselling and support groups for birth parents
- support and help to adopted children around their life story and identity
- support and advice to adopted children and their families
- a mediation and contact service to help set up contact arrangements with birth parents
- seminars, talks by experts in adoption and training groups.
