Why did I get a penalty for parking on my drive?
Perhaps you didn’t. Your drive stops at your property boundary. If you have a footway crossover allowing you to cross a verge or footway to get to your drive, garage, forecourt, etc. it is only to gain access. If you park on, or partly on the crossover you may be penalised because it is part of the highway, not part of your drive.
