Cycle route training
Q1.Why can’t I contact the Road Safety Team directly to book my Year 7 or 8 child onto a route training course?
Training is targeted direct to the school so that any first stage assessments can be done in bulk within the school’s classrooms and playground.
Q2. What if my Year 7 or 8 child requires extra training on their route?
Some children do require more training than others, so training will be tailored to each child’s specific needs. If the trainers think the training is not benefiting a particular child or the child is not managing the risks safely, the parent or guardian will be informed
Q3. Are children required to wear helmets when on their route training?
Yes. Helmets and high visibility clothing is a requirement for the training.
Q4. Who delivers the training?
We use cycling instructors who have been CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.
