When it comes to natural disasters, flooding is the type of emergency that can happen very quickly and have a devastating effect on residents and their properties. Barnet is thankfully not an area prone to serious flooding but there are areas of the borough, near waterways, which are at more risk of suffering flooding than others. Here are some handy tips you can take to prevent a flood affecting your home:

All highway and street flooding and flooding originating from underground streams should be reported to the Highways section. (see 'Related Service Area Information link below)
Flooding due to blocked road gullies should be reported to our Customer Care Unit on Tel (020) 8359 4600 or out of hours to the emergency number (020) 8359 2000.
They will record the details for use by the Highways section.
All private property flooding and public/mains sewer flooding should be reported to Thames Water on Tel: 0845 9200 800.
