Severe weather warning for 6 and 7 September 2008
Residents are warned that there is potential for heavy rainfall this evening (Friday 5 September) and throughout the weekend.
As a precaution, the council has checked vulnerable grilles on watercourses within its responsibility and these have recently been cleared to ensure no restrictions in flow. The Environment Agency will be carrying out a similar approach to grilles on watercourses and main rivers for which they have responsibility.
Currently there are no Flood Watch Warnings for this area issued by the Environment Agency although this may change. If you have any concerns in this area you should call the Environment Agency Flood Line number on:

Council maintenance crews will be on standby throughout the weekend ready to be called in should flooding become a possibility. Any problems can be reported via the council's main telephone number: 020 8359 2000.
