- false information.
The Corporate Anti Fraud Team (CAFT) is a specialist investigative unit, which has been established to investigate allegations of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit and general fraud within the London Borough of Barnet.
Aims
CAFT aims to minimise fraud and loss through effective prevention and detection measures and is committed to supporting the community, Barnet Council employees and councillors in deterring fraud.
Where fraud is discovered and investigated, CAFT is dedicated to taking necessary action against alleged offenders and will prosecute in appropriate cases.
The council is also dedicated to reviewing controls and systems in place and will take all reasonable steps to prevent the same happening again, and to recover any funds lost through fraudulent behaviour.
