Sale and Rent Back
Normally you can not claim Housing Benefit for five years on a property you used to own. The only exception to this rule is if you had to sell the property and are renting from the new owner.
Always take advice, before selling your home. Citizens Advice Bureaus for example can give Debt Advice. The advice agency can discuss with you whether or not it is the best option for you and how to show the Housing Benefits office that you had to sell.
