Convicted or remand prisoners
A dwelling, which is the main residence of a person(s), will be exempt from Council Tax if they are:
- detained in a prison, hospital or other place by an order of a court; or
- detained under a part of the Immigration Act 1971; or
- detained under a part of the Mental Health Act 1983 or the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984
Restrictions apply in certain circumstances.
