If you must travel, take precautions
- Plan your route and inform relatives and friends.
- Leave a note of your intended journey at home.
- If you are driving, dress appropriately for the weather, in case you are forced to leave your vehicle.
- Secure your property.
Remember...
- Check on neighbours if you can - particularly if they are disabled or elderly.
- After the initial alarm has been raised, do not call 999, unless it is absolutely necessary. Listen to the radio and watch TV for information.
