Scope of Service
The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a weekly payment of up to £30, paid directly to young people who stay on in further education after they reach statutory leaving age. Overall, your household income has to be under £30,000 to qualify for EMA. Young people may also receive bonuses of £100 if they remain on their course and make good progress with their learning. Please contact the call centre for further information or go to the EMA website.
Application forms can be requested online or by phone on 0808 1016219 and should also be available from schools and colleges and the local Connexions (Careers) service.
Please note: The LEA (Local Education Authority) is not involved in the assessment process and will not be holding application forms.
