Trading standards
The Trading Standards and Licensing team investigate criminal offences by traders alleged to have taken place in the borough of Barnet along with inspecting business premises and giving advice to local traders.
We also administer and issue licences for a wide range of activites including explosives, gambling, alcohol and poisons.
Consumer advice is given by an independent organisation called Consumer Direct who can provide assistance both on the phone or by email. Any matters of a criminal nature are referred to the appropriate Trading Standards Service.
Unfortunately we may not be able to contact consumers directly regarding the outcome of such investigations or pass comment on any information received. It may also be necessary to refer you to your local services for advice if you do not live in Barnet.
