Community strategy
One of the key tasks of Barnet's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) is to produce a Sustainable Community Strategy. This is a document which demonstrates how local organisations and agencies will work together to improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of their areas.
- Barnet: a Successful City-Suburb, a Sustainable Community Strategy for Barnet 2008-2018
(PDF: 1.33MB)
This strategy was developed following extensive consultation with residents. It sets out how the agencies and organisations represented on Barnet's LSP will work together over the next ten years.
It shows how the LSP will build upon Barnet's success as a first class suburb of London and ensure it remains a place where people choose to live and work.
It identifies four priorities which matter most to Barnet’s communities and can only be tackled by partnership working:
- Investing in Children and Young People;
- Safer, Stronger and Cleaner Barnet;
- Growing Successfully;
- Healthier Barnet (including older people).
The Sustainable Community Strategy Action Plan 2008-2011
(PDF: 297KB) underpins the Sustainable Community Strategy.
This plan out how the LSP will deliver the strategy in the short-term and contains key targets and partnership projects. The action plan will be performance managed by the LSP on a six-monthly basis. Updates on performance will be made available on this site.
