Crime and disorder strategy
Reducing crime and reassuring communities
Barnet’s Safer Communities Partnership is dedicated to lowering the incidence of crime in our borough and letting our diverse communities know we are working hard to keep them safe.
That is why the partnership produced the Crime and Disorder and Drugs Strategy for Barnet 2005-2008, with a range of challenging but achievable targets.
The strategy is divided into four broad themes – young people, anti-social behaviour and quality of life, crimes against people, and property crime – which have been identified as the overarching concerns of the 324,000 people who live within Barnet’s borders.
The partnership aims to reduce overall crime figures by 17.5 per cent by 2008, increase by five per cent the proportion of people who feel safe in Barnet, and to minimise the harm caused by drugs.
