Renewal of vows
This is a new service being offered by the register office. The ceremony is designed for those who are already legally married, no matter what length of time, and of any age. The ceremony can be associated with a particular wedding anniversary, such as Ruby or Silver, or at any point in the marriage, and gives couples the opportunity to renew their vows and commitment to each other in a unique and personal ceremony.
There is a wide range of options available for the choice of music, readings of poetry or verse, and the choice of vows you wish to make to each other during the renewal ceremony.
You can in fact create your own ceremony designed to your own tastes and requirements, and involve the special people in your lives, such as your children, friends, or guests who were present at your marriage.
The ceremony is non religious, has no legal status and is not any form of legal marriage, nor is it binding on either party. You do not need to live in the district where the renewal ceremony is to take place nor do you need any residential qualification in any other district. You will need to produce your marriage certificate when booking your ceremony. A "Certificate of Renewal of Marriage Vows" is issued marking the event.
A "Celebrant" will conduct the ceremony, which may be held at a register office or an approved premise. Please note that not all register offices are participating in this new service. .
The fee for a ceremony conducted at the venue listed below is £160.00
The Register Office,
182 Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware.
If you wish your ceremony to be at an approved premise you will have to pay the hire charges of the chosen venue in addition to the £160.00
Full details and the Renewal Ceremony package are available from the Barnet Register Office. The booking and arranging of the ceremony is your responsibility.
