Harassment help

How do I cope? A guide to the borough's help services for victims of harassment

Harassment can ruin victims' lives and, in many cases, ends up leaving them feeling there is nowhere to turn. Verbal and physical harassment can take on a variety of forms, such as domestic violence or abuse on the grounds of race, sexuality, faith or disability.

There is a large network of support for those suffering harassment in the borough of Barnet. If you feel you are a victim, call:

  • Victim Support (24-hour helpline) 0845 303 0900
  • Crimestoppers 0800 555111
  • Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator 020 8359 7482
  • Racial Harassment Reporting Line 020 8359 5620
  • Broken Rainbow (for homophobic crime reporting) 08452 60 44 60
  • Women's Aid 08456 000331
  • Barnet Neighbourhood Watch 020 8733 4409
  • Graffiti/abandoned cars reporting 020 8359 4600

Barnet Council and its partners don't want anyone to suffer unjust harassment and bullying, and there are many mechanisms in place to try to stop this type of hate crime at the earliest possible stage. Anyone with concerns about harassment should take advantage of the options available in Barnet, and come forward to tell the authorities as soon as possible.
