Budget consultation 2011/12
Over the next four years we expect to have 26% less to spend on services than we do this year. The Government's Comprehensive Spending Review was announced on 20 October 2010. In preparation for the review Barnet Council has worked on a three year financial strategy (PDF).
We have been listening to your views on how we can adapt our services to cope with this reduced budget and over the last few months we have involved you by:
- Inviting you to participate in our ideas website, where you could:
- View our graphic which contained information
about how we spend your money at present.
- Watch a video from Councilor Daniel Thomas
on the budget pressures we currently face.
- Submit your ideas and rate each others
ideas.
- Ran a Citizens Panel face to face workshop to explore residents views in depth on the different saving options.
- Invited you to take part in an online survey to hear your views on the savings options
We have now developed our budget options further which we will be consulting on shortly.
