Housing Strategy consultation
Housing Strategy 2010 - 2025 (draft)
We want your views on how we provide housing choices that meet the needs and aspirations of our residents
- Consultation: ends 26 February 2010
We are developing a new Housing Strategy for Barnet and have identified the following six core objectives:
- increasing housing supply, including family sized homes, to improve the range of housing choices and opportunities available to residents
- improving the condition and sustainability of the existing housing stock
- promoting mixed communities
- maximising the opportunities for those wishing to own their home
- providing housing related support options that maximise the independence of residents
- providing excellent value services that exceed residents’ expectations.
How can you be Involved?
We consult and engage regularly with our residents and other stakeholders in the borough about housing issues at our annual Housing Conference and through other channels, such as the Private Landlord’s Forum and the Barnet Housing Association Liaison Group.
As part of this regular engagement we have put together an evidence base and we have also established a Local Housing Partnership with representatives from key stakeholders to oversee the development of the new housing strategy.
We now want to hear the views of residents and other stakeholders before we finalise the document.
