Draft Design Guidance Note - Extensions to Houses January 2010
(PDF: 1.3MB)
The Local Planning Authority has recently prepared revised guidance in relation to extensions to houses in the borough and we are seeking the views of the community on it's content.
The revised design guidance updates the original version adopted in 2003 and provides more clear, consistent and relevant borough wide guidance in line with existing and emerging local planning policies, Government advice and best practice. The current guidance can be found on the council's web site under the request for planning application guidance FAQs.
The revised document will help in providing applicants with a better understanding of the council’s latest requirements; improve the quality of applications and the consistency and speed of decisions. It will also assist with the accommodation needs of an increasingly diverse local community whilst protecting existing residential amenity and Barnet’s distinctive suburban and high quality green environment.
We welcome any comments you may have on this draft guidance by 5pm on 12 March 2010. All comments received will be reviewed and the guidance amended if appropriate prior to adoption.
If you wish to discuss any matter in relation to the document please use the contact details opposite.
