Barnet Council and the Mayor of London have highlighted Colindale as an area that could support major development. The Council wants to ensure that any development delivers high-quality new housing combined with improvements to enhance local services and provide new jobs.
Through the redevelopment of Grahame Park, Beaufort Park and other known housing commitments, there are already several thousand new dwellings approved for the Colindale area. However, other key sites including Colindale Hospital, the British Newspaper Library, Middlesex University, the Peel Centre and sites on the Edgware Road will be key to delivering the strategic target of 10,000 new homes and 500 new jobs as set out in the London Plan.
To ensure that further new development is of the highest quality and delivers benefits to existing communities, a development framework is being prepared for the area.
We would like your input to help us make sure that existing residents and stakeholders interests and opinions are taken into account.
Exhibition of emerging Issues and Options
A public exhibition will be held at the RAF Museum, Grahame Park Way on 22 January 2008 where you can put forward your views to Council officers and ask about the project.

Comments on the Issues and Options stage are invited from any interested member of the community. You can submit your comments in the following ways:
- Print off a copy of the questionnaire(PDF 256KB) also attached to the consultation leaflet, complete it by hand and send it to us through the post.

All representations must be received by the Council by 5.00pm on Monday 11 February 2008 at the latest.
Sending us your comments is an opportunity to become involved in managing development in your local area. We welcome your views about how you would like to see Colindale change.
Following this first key stage in the preparation of the Area Action Plan for Colindale we will be presenting a draft Preferred Options report to you around Spring 2008, when you will be given another opportunity to comment on how the plan is progressing.
