Lifelong learning planning obligations
Draft for consultation: 12 March 2007 - 23 April 2007
The council has prepared two inter-related Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) on:
- Contributions to Lifelong Learning from Development – Pre-Schooling and Education
- Contributions to Lifelong Learning from Development – Library Services.
The documents will supplement the policies and proposals of the council's Unitary Development Plan (UDP), adopted in May 2006, and the London Plan (2004). Together these form the Development Plan for the borough.
The SPDs will also be part of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF is a series of documents which are being produced to eventually replace the UDP as the basis for planning decisions.
It is a mandatory requirement for the council to consult all interested parties about its SPDs. The draft documents are now subject to a six week consultation period starting on Monday 12 March and ending on Monday 23 April 2007.
