The Council’s Corporate Plan sets out our priorities and work programme for the next couple of years.

It identifies our priorities, shows how we will take these forward and how we will measure success. Our Corporate Plan builds on last year’s aspirations to become a more customer-focused organisation delivering effective services to individual Barnet residents. Our corporate priorities, which we believe continue to set a clear strategic direction for the organisation, remain the same as last year.
This year we wanted to make a stronger link to Barnet’s Sustainable Community Strategy which sets out the shared 10 year vision of the borough and should be the key planning document across the One Barnet Partnership. The One-Barnet approach provides a route where strategic ambitions can be achieved whilst at the same time providing better services for our residents at a time of reduced public budgets.
This year’s plan introduces our new People Performance Strategy and our approach to managing staff, by clarifying our organisational expectations whilst also supporting our managers to get the best from their teams.
The plan also publishes the organisation’s people values which will help to embed a people-centred performance culture across the council.
