Publication scheme
The Act requires all public authorities to adopt and maintain a publication scheme. The publication scheme gives details of all documents that are available to the public. In addition the following details will also be provided:
- Document title description
- Subject / Category for the document
- Officer responsible (name, phone or email)
- Charges (if applicable).

Charges for information
We must state whether there is a charge for the information available in our publication scheme. In most cases the information will be provided free of charge.
However, this is subject to the following conditions:
- Existing fees: where a fee is already charged for information this is stated in our publication scheme
- Website: information available on our council website is free of charge
- Where a large amount of material needs to be printed we may charge for the printing and copying costs.
Complaints
- The named officer/department for the document you are interested in should supply you with it.
- If you do not receive it you should first contact the named officer/department.
- If the document is not available the officer/department should be able to tell you why.
- If you have a complaint about any aspect of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) or about the performance of Barnet Council in dealing with your request(s) for information, please contact the FOI Officer using the details opposite.
