Local Development Framework (LDF)
The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 reforms the development plan system replacing the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) with the Local Development Framework (LDF).
Once adopted, the emerging policies of the review UDP will be saved for a period of three years. Until the LDF replaces all of the saved policies, the policies of the review UDP (adoption expected by mid 2006) will continue to be used by the Barnet Council, along with The Mayor’s London Plan adopted in July 2011(external link), to determine planning applications.
