Contributions to Health Facilities SPD
New housing development will increase the number of people living in Barnet and therefore demand for health facilities will grow. This document provides guidance to developers on our approach to securing contributions for health facilities in order to address the impact of additional demand from new residential development.
The document sets out:
- The context for negotiating health facilities contributions;
- The criteria and formula we will use when seeking contributions as part of a planning application; and
- Monitoring procedures to ensure contributions are spent correctly.
This Contribution to Health Facilities from Development Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted on 30th July 2009.
A Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on Contributions to Health Facilities from Development 
(PDF:730KB) was prepared as part of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF will form the basis for planning decisions within the borough.
This SPD will supplement the policies and proposals of the Adopted May 2006 Unitary Development Plan (UDP) and The London Plan(Consolidated with alterations since 2004).Together these form the Development Plan for the borough.
We have also prepared a Sustainability Appraisal (PDF:418KB) in conjunction with the document. This explains why the council has prepared the SPD on Contributions to Health Facilities from Development. We have also produced an Adoption Statement (PDF:57KB) and a Consultation Statement (PDF:78KB) as required by the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004.
