Local Development Scheme (LDS)
The council's revised Local Development Scheme (LDS) 2011
(PDF:448KB) was approved by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government (external link) on the 23 June 2011 and the Mayor of London on 6 July 2011. It was formally adopted and published by the council on Monday 18 July 2011. It supersedes the LDS previously adopted in 2007.
The LDS sets out the scope and timetable for producing Barnet's Local Development Framework. It explains which Local Development Documents are going to be produced, by whom and when, with key dates from initial preparation to adoption.
It also explains the purpose and scope of each Local Development Document and the role of each within the Local Development Framework. In addition, it explains the strategic and local planning context within which the Local Development framework is being produced. A comprehensive list of all Local Development Framework documents that we have produced so far at each stage can be found on Barnet's Local Development Framework webpage.
