Transport for pupils with a statement of special educational needs
Some pupils with a statement of special educational needs may qualify for free travel either on the basis of their requirements as set out in their statement or on the grounds of distance.
The eligibility criteria is set out in the Policy Statements:

The Policy Statement also covers the circumstances in which pre school pupils and students attending further education who have special educational needs but do not have a statement of special educational needs under the terms of the 1996 Education Act may qualify for free travel.
All pupils who are not entitled to free travel under the Policy Statement ‘Provision of Home to School transport for Pupils with Special Educational Needs’ will be considered for eligibility under other criteria administered by Pupil Admissions and Travel Team.
