Children and young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) can make a positive contribution to the schools and community life of Barnet – we are here to help.
Who are we?
- Advisory teachers with experience and training in working with children and young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition
Who is the service for?
- schools working with children and young people with a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Condition
- an Autism Spectrum Condition includes: Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (Not Otherwise Specified), Kanner’s Syndrome, Classical Autism and Atypical Autism and other spectrum conditions
What do we do?
- support inclusion for children with an Autism Spectrum Condition in mainstream schools
- give advice and training for school staff and other professionals
- give advice and training for parents and carers in liason with parent groups and other local support bodies
- work in partnership with local parent and volunatry bodies
