Environmental policy and strategies
Environmental Policy
Climate change is with us all and it is now one of the biggest challenges facing the world today. Just as London as a world city, has a responsibility to act, so does Barnet as a successful and growing city-suburb. This is why we have developed an environmental policy - Environmental Policy - A Greener City-Suburb 2008/9 - 2011/12
(PDF 1.42MB), which sets out what the council needs to do, collectively with local residents and businesses, to tackle climate change and improve the environment for current and future generations.
The environmental policy sets out:
- the council’s commitments to tackling climate change
- the activities that will underpin these commitments
- the indicators by which the council will monitor its environmental performance over time.
