Horticultural standards
We strive to achieve high standards in all of our horticultural bedding displays throughout the borough and we have a programme of refurbishment of horticultural features within the parks.
London Borough of Barnet achieved silver in the London in Bloom Awards 2006 for large city category. The borough, in competition with its London neighbours, was judged not only on horticultural excellence but also on environmental awareness and initiatives such as litter clearance, recycling, and conservation.

Every entry received has contributed to making Barnet a beautiful and colourful place in which to live and work.
This annual competition is free to enter and is open to everyone who enjoys gardening and who lives or works in Barnet. There are a variety of categories, offering everyone an opportunity to enter the competition. For those keen gardeners who haven’t entered the competition before, please don’t hesitate because we welcome all entries! You never know you may be next year’s winner.
