Better care, higher standards charter
Adult Social Care and Health in Barnet provide advice, help and support for people who wish to continue to live independently, and for their family and friends to support them.
This local charter is for you, if you are over 18 and have difficulties associated with long-term illness, disability or age or if you are a carer who supports people in these circumstances.
The aims of this charter are to:
- Provide you with information about our services and how you can get them
- Explain what standards you can expect from us.
Our principles are that services are based on:
- Treating you with courtesy and honesty and respect for your dignity
- Helping you achieve and sustain independence
- Working in partnership with you to provide the services you need
- Involving you in decisions and giving you enough information to make informed choices
- Treating you fairly on the basis of your need and not discriminating against you on the basis of your age, gender, race, religion, or disability
- Ensuring you feel able to complain about the standard of service you receive and that you will not be victimised because you complain.
