We have launched a free, new training programme called Caring with Confidence to help give carers, aged 18 or over in Barnet, more confidence to undertake their caring duties, as well as help improve your health and wellbeing and that of the person you care for. Book your place below.
If you are looking after someone who is disabled, ill or an older person, then you are a carer. You could be caring for a relative, friend or even a neighbour. Although you may receive a Carers’ Allowance, you are not a paid care worker.
Caring with Confidence is for you, if you would like some:
Caring with Confidence is part of the government’s New Deal for Carers and is designed to fit around your life and caring responsibilities.
You can pick and choose the sessions you attend and how you get involved. These include:
Importantly, the programme is completely free to carers, including the sessions, refreshments and, where needed, any associated travel and respite costs. We can also arrange transport for you if you find travelling difficult.
The programme is designed to help you build on your own skills and knowledge and is a great opportunity to meet other carers and share experiences.
There are 7 sessions covering different aspects of a carer’s life and you can choose which you want to do depending on your own circumstances. Only the first session, Finding your way, is mandatory. Each session lasts for 3 hours, including lunch.
