Freedom Pass

Freedom passes entitles Barnet residents to free travel on buses, underground and trains within Greater London and immediate surroundings.

Passes for older people aged over 60 are available from all post offices in the borough and are valid for two years. When you apply for the pass at the post office you will need to take with you:

  • Your existing travel pass (if you have one)
  • Proof of your name, age and address
  • Two passport style photographs.

Lost, stolen or damaged Freedom Passes

If your pass was an old style pass valid until 31 March 2010, you should apply for a new style pass, as explained at Freedom Pass Renewal 2010. Should you have concerns about interim travel rights please discuss these with the Freedom Pass customer helpline:

If you have a new style pass, please follow the procedure as set out on the London Councils website (external link).
