Artways
Artways is an art group that is open to people who live in the London Borough of Barnet who have a physical or sensory impairment. Members of Artways are free to enjoy, explore and experiment with a wide range of art materials. Height adjustable and tilting drawing tables are available.
The group is user led and aims to provide an environment where individual members can feel safe and comfortable to develop their creativity and increase their awareness and appreciation of art, as well as have fun. Members are encouraged to work on their own individual themes, which can be interpreted on many levels and used flexibly to meet individual needs.
The main aim of Artways is to provide an environment where the process of the activity is important. Therefore, a scribble can be as much of a contribution as a finished painting.
Exhibitions
The artwork produced by the members is promoted through exhibitions and galleries, raising awareness of disability and promoting the talents of the artists through their work. The artwork is for sale.
