Sexual health

Emotional health and well being
Many young people struggle to make sense of how they are feeling, and at times feel overwhelmed and unable to cope. There are a number of local and nearby local services that can help. Here are a few:
- Barnet Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service – based at both Finchley Memorial Hospital (Tel: 020 8349 6309) and Edgware Community Hospital (Tel: 0208 732 6685). A Referral is necessary.
- The Tavistock Centre (Tel: 020 7435 7111) Adolescent Department, will accept self referrals from young people up to 21 and can offer psychotherapy.
- The Brandon Centre (Tel: 020 7267 4792) can offer psychotherapy for young people up to 21.
- Open Door (Tel: 0208 348 5947) offers counselling and therapy for young people up to 21, as well as a Parents Consultation Service.
- The British Association of Psychotherapists can offer psychotherapy and offer a reduced fee scheme. The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapists is the main national body representing both counselling and psychotherapy and produces a directory of qualified therapists.
