Safeguarding training for professionals

Train the Trainer - for delivering Safeguarding Adults awareness

As part of Barnet’s multi-agency safeguarding adult training strategy all staff working with vulnerable adults need to be made aware of the multi-agency procedures for alerting and reporting abuse.

To enable such large numbers of staff to be trained it has been agreed that key staff responsible for training will cascade this training down to their staff groups.  To enable staff to deliver this raising awareness training, the council’s Learning and Development Unit are running a Train the Trainers Course.

  • Date: 8 September 2009
  • Time: 9.30am - 4pm
  • Venue: Building 2, North London Business Park, Oakleigh Road South, London N11 1NP

By the end of the training participants will:

  • be familiar with the aims and content of the raising awareness programme
  • be clear what your teams’ role and responsibilities are in the safeguarding adult process
  • be able to deliver the training to their staff teams (a pack of materials is provided)
  • have considered their plan for delivering their training in a rolling programme
