Alarm services
Barnet Lifeline
This service provides reassurance and 24 hour emergency help to vulnerable people including frail older people. It is available to people living in sheltered accommodation and to people living in their own homes. With Lifeline installed in your home you can simply push a button or pull a cord and send an alarm to the Lifeline centre where a duty operator will ask you what your difficulty is and take the appropriate course of action to help you.
The Older Adults Duty Social Work team can advise you on whether you would qualify for financial support towards the installation of an alarm. If you want to purchase an alarm directly:
- Tel: 020 8359 4841.
Telecare
In addition to the Lifeline service, Telecare equipment is also available. This is similar to the use of alarms, but with more complex equipment such as bed exit monitors and flood detectors, for example. This allows people to live independently in their own homes with the reassurance that carers will be alerted if they need help.
If you would like more information about Telecare services you can contact us using the details in the left menu.
