Compulsory purchase order - a schedule of properties
The council will, where appropriate, consider the use of Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) powers to enable particular major developments to proceed. Details of any orders made and submitted to the Secretary of State in the future will be provided here.
Grahame Park regeneration
As part of the Grahame Park regeneration, we have made a CPO to include all properties in phase 1b of the development.
A CPO is a legal tool that helps to ensure that redevelopment can go ahead by giving us the power to compulsorily buy property and land identified in the CPO.
On 7 November 2007 the Council made the order and notices were then served to all known persons who had an interest affected by the CPO. No objections to the CPO were received and the Council therefore confirmed the Order on 1 February 2008.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has produced a series of five booklets which explains, in simple terms, how the compulsory purchase system works.
