Registering for a council property
Getting a home from the council
In order to be eligible for a council property you need to join the Homeseekers Register. Once you have been registered on to the Homeseekers Register you will be allocated with points based on your current housing need. With these points you will be able to bid for permanent council properties through Home Connections.

To apply, download the form, complete and send it back to us at the address provided.
As we have limited stock of homes to offer annually, and a high demand for these properties, only the bidders with the most points are invited to view a property. If it is suitable (there are many reasons why it may not be) the tenancy will then be offered to the highest bidder. To learn more about this see our page on allocations.
Additional points can be granted due to your personal need. Follow the links for more information:

Housing associations
Housing associations do not offer homes separately except in very special cases. If you want a housing association property you have to bid for one in the same way as others on our register.
If you are already a housing association tenant, you should talk to them if you need repairs, want to move, or have other problems at home.
