Joint visiting team
We and the Pension Service are working together to provide a joint service for customers over the age of 60 and adults who receive social care services to ensure that they are informed about all their entitlements and helped to apply for these. The Joint Visiting Team can:
- provide information on all benefit entitlements
- help with all the paperwork
- verify and collect all the supporting paperwork in the comfort of your own home (or in the care home)
- collect information to ensure that any charges made by the council are correct.
The Joint Visiting Team are also able to identify and signpost customers to a range of services that are non-financial or benefit related, such as:
- the warm front grant (external link)
- help at home - with gardening, shopping or cleaning through local voluntary organisations
- help with home adaptations and fittings such as hand rails
- referrals to the police for advice on home security
- referral to the fire service for free smoke and safety alarms.
