Using library study facilities
We want the library to be a place where you can get the most from your study. Study places are limited at each library to ensure you have the space and quiet to work.
If you wish to study in Barnet Libraries you will need to:
- Have a Barnet library card. Not a member?
- Arrive at the library as early as possible to secure a place
- Show library staff your library card. Staff will record your number and give you a token.
- Find a seat in the study area as directed by library staff.
The rules for studying are:
- Only one token will be issued per person.
- Once the study space is full, places will be allocated if and when a student leaves.
- On leaving the library please return your token to library staff.
- Talking or poor behaviour will be challenged. Staff will issue a warning after which you will be asked to leave the library.
- Anyone contraveneing the 'Unacceptable Behaviour Policy' will be asked to leave and further action may be taken.
- If a desk is not used for a sustained period of time it may be re-allocated to another student.
- Some areas of the library are reserved for library users who do not wish to study. Please respect these areas and other users.
- Please do not move furniture.
- Please place all litter in the bins provided.
- Please return books to a trolley after use.
- Please do not leave your bags or valuables unattended.
