Internet computers
Over 200 internet computers are available in Barnet libraries. The computers were originally installed as part of the People's Network project which provided Lottery funding for internet access in every public library in the country.
Each library has the following facilities:

- Scanning and printing
- IT learning courses
- Photoshop elements
If you are a library member computer use is free for up to an hour a day if you have a valid library card. If you don’t have a library membership card or wish to use the computer for longer than an hour, you can use the computer by paying the hire charge.
PC hire charges:
- Hourly charge: £2.50 (£1.50 concessions)
- Half hourly charge: £1.50 (£1.00 concessions)
Other charges:
- Disks for sale: 50p
- Printer charges: black and white printing, 10p per sheet

Many of the computers are now PC Express and are self-service. Just turn up and type in your library ticket number to use the computer. If you want to be sure a computer is available you can book in advance by asking the library staff. So what are you waiting for? Join your local library today.
If you use a computer in our libraries you will be asked to agree to abide by our Acceptable Usage Policy.
If you are new to computers Barnet libraries run a range of IT courses, mainly aimed at people just starting to use a computer. These courses range from half-hour one-to-one sessions to longer courses, some over several weeks. They cover a range of IT skills to help you get started with using the computer and the internet. The courses are free of charge but you will need to book in advance.
