Report a problem with street furniture
“Street furniture” can mean anything from litter bins to guard rails, from bus shelters to signposts, from traffic lights to public benches. But whatever the item may be, it is part of Barnet’s street scene and it is there for a reason.
We take great care to ensure that our streets are kept attractive and functional, so if you notice that any street furniture has suffered damage or vandalism please help us to rectify it by reporting it via the links below.
If you a query or problem concerning vandalism report this online using Barnet's FixMyStreet. Make a note of the exact location and give as many details about the problem as you can.
Report problem with street lighting
Barnet has one of the lowest crime rates in London, with street lighting essential to maintaining levels of public safety at night. Street lighting also keeps our roads safe for those travelling after dusk, meaning it is in everybody’s interests to report faults as and when they occur.
London Borough of Barnet operates a street lighting PFI (Private Finance Initiative) contract for the replacement, maintenance and repair of its street lighting and all other illuminated street furniture.
The responsibility for maintaining, repairing and replacing the street lighting and illuminated signs and bollards in the borough falls to the Service Provider, Barnet Lighting Service (BLS).
BLS currently sub-contracts all works for the street lighting service to David Webster Limited (DW).
If you would like to report a fault, a query or other problems concerning street lighting report the details online using Barnet's FixMyStreet
Please make a note of the lighting column number (found about 2m above ground), the exact location and provide as many details about the fault/problem as you can.
On completion of the online fault reporting form using Barnet's FixMyStreet facility, the details will be sent directly to BLS and DW who will deal with your query accordingly.
If you wish to follow up your report, you should contact direct, as follows:
By telephone on freephone: 0800 032 6788
Electronically by email: bls@dwlimited.co.uk
If you do not wish to use the online reporting you may use the above contact details, at anytime, to report faults and problems.
The BLS contact details should also be used for general enquiries and requests regarding street lighting and all other illuminated street furniture in the Borough.
